Liberals will vote liberal no matter how bad they are. Same as PCs and NDP. Same with trucks. People usually stand by their brand no matter how much grief they've caused through the years.
I've owned and driven company pickups mostly on dirt roads for over 50 years. You will get one era of bad paint, one era of bad engines, one era of poor design.
Guys here will swear by Fords. I won't allow one in my driveway.
Good gas mileage usually comes at the expense of power. Comfort at the expense of suspension/tires.
Buy what you need. Extended cab/crew cab, 4x4, short box, standard box,
Good luck sorting this one out.

This past week in the news TV and newspapers, "massive recall in dodge trucks , going back to 2005, many thousands of them for a few different reasons , the biggest is"rear ends can lock up causing serious accidents.

I bought a DODGE RAM 1500 and it was a LEMON!! Everything that could go wrong on a vehicle did with mine. Broke down in September and when the wrecker picked it up from the middle of the highway I told him to keep it.
Next day went out and bought a Ford F150. Happily ever after!!!

I think the 08 ram was a one of its kind. I got one and I'm not looking forward to changing it. My truck gets a beating every day with over 500 000 km on it and the only thing that I changed are the break pads, tires and oil.

Peter its all a personal choice. If anyone tells you what is better is their personal choice. Each truck has their ups and downs. If you are buying new try them all! It's no different then buying a new shotgun. Buy what fits you best!
i own a newer ram and have zero issues with it in the 4 years of owning it.

A disgruntled Ram owner may recommend a Ford. A disgruntled Ford owner may recommend a Ram. For the most part it is all subjective. Personally, I have no brand loyalty. First I start with a budget, secondly determine the features I want. Once I have that sorted out, I decide based on aesthetics and ergonomics. I try to be open minded, and not have preconceived biases. The quality of new vehicles is very much uniform across all brands, but there is always a lemon in every bunch. Have fun trying to decide!!

As a CMA this is exactly how I think but I like to hear opinions and so far the f150 seems to be a great truck. Thanks all for your advice. Now time to visit some dealers and just look.

I used mine till it died at 410.000 km's. Sounds good, but that's after putting about $35,000.00 into it for repairs.
Problem was, before we bought the ram,we had a dodge caravan and had to get rid of it due to cost of repairs also, electrical. We used the caravan as a trade in for the lemon ram truck.
A buddy bought a ram and the dash looks like a Christmas tree for all his colourfull warning lights that are always on. I hate Dodge!!!

After two GM pieces of junk I went with a Cummins wrapped by Dodge. One of the few things I don't like about Ford is how low their steering wheel is even tilted all the way up, other than that Ford/Dodge are pretty much equal. Been looking at the new Ecodiesel, nothing comes close to the mileage they get.
