Enough already!
There is basically a canine explosion going now. Popularity and enjoyment of a dog buddy is probably at its highest level ever.
But I"m not liking what I see happening.
The mixing of breeds with a substiantial market is very sad.
If its a standard, then we need a miniture.
If its a smooth coat then we need a wire coat.
How many spanials are there?

Hey all you have to do is cross 2 dogs and essentially have mutts but if you hyphenate the 2 breeds in name you can get more money for them than a pure bred dog. Yuppies think crossed breed mutt is a breed. The fact that you have no clue what the breeding can produce health wise or temperament wise means nothing in this designer world. Nothing wrong with a good old fashioned mutt but let's call a spade a spade.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

If it doesn't flush, retrieve, point or run game....it isn't a dog.

Well, there are some pretty darned good working dogs that aren't hunting dogs. Herders, sled dogs, guard dogs, seeing eye dogs. I like "most" of them...

I can't stand the marketing behind mutts either. It also ticks me off when you see the dogs in purses, bags and other fashion accessories. Or worse those who believe that because they're vegetarians their dogs should be as well. When I was in vet school we would see some dogs come in with organ problems from the amount of veggies they ate. None of this is considered animal cruelty but I've seen a farmer have to defend himself because he owned an outdoor husky (it had a dog run that connected to an outbuilding that was warm)

Many of those miniature breeds, etc., have been around for years. Nothing new here.
