We have also dropped this to a one day hunt as we don't see a point in having a 2 day hunt when we aren't going for a group with the most. So we will be huhting Saturday February 7. Weigh ins and prizes will conclude that evening with a BBQ and the team with te heaviest male coyote be awarded as well as the team with the heaviest female. Sorry guys but after hearing this news it has really put a damper on things.

Thanks for that link, I was wondering what happened with the kerfuffle in Osgoode.

Theirs was a little different, with every proof of kill (ears I believe), you bought a $2 ticket on a draw for a new shotgun.

The only 'bad' side (if you can call it that), in this contest is if the guys hold back and not shoot the smaller ones in the hopes of getting a bigger one for a prize...they all need to be culled.

Don't think that is going to happen, I'm sure guys are going to kill every yote they can! It's not like you can only enter ONE yote you can enter as many as you like but the biggest female and biggest male take home the prizes.
I love fishing but REALLY it is just a way to pass time until hunting season!!!!

I was being facetious..LOL...like guys do with Bucks

But..if an easy shot on a small yote is passed in favour of risker shot at a 'prize' yote and both are lost...not good

If someone can tell the weight of a coyote at 100-300 yards then good on then
