I buy Orijen at Global Pet Foods and buy 10, get the next bag free.
I have had my two Belgian Shepherd dog on it for 10 years, and they have been very healthy and active dogs.

Royal Canine professional Maxi.. 1.5 cups per day for my lab. I could never let her self moniter her consumption as she has no "full" meter on her. Absolutely inhales her food, I'm sure she could live without teeth as she rarely chews.

I have heard from people in the know that it takes a couple months for a dog to reap the benefits of a change from maintenance to a performance food so it is best to stay on the same food year round and adjust the amount. YD is right about cutting the food back to far resulting in stool consumption so it is a fine line. I am feeding a food out of the US called Victor at the moment but that will probably change. A good friend is working with a nutritionist that was a founding member of a popular feed company and they are working up a new feed program that is supplemented with a dried coconut oil and a pro biotic.

Not to raise a dead horse from the dead, but I just bought another bag from Global Pet Food. They said the rebate is one free bag after 12 bags for the Orijen. Somebody else in the same shop told me in the summer it's 10+1. Same programme applies to Acana and although the same company you need to buy 12 of one brand to get a free one of the same (no combintion/price matiching etc.)

I'm thinking the prices are different at each Global if some are offering the 11th for free. Has to be because Champion only gives their retailers reimbursement on the 13th bag, unless you're a breeder as was mention. The Globals where you get the 11th free, you pay more for 10 bags than at a Global that gives the 13th free. Just a guess. I also get 5 dollar off coupons in the mail every three months and there are 3, 5 buck coupons, good for each month until the next three come in the mail.
My guess is it all works out in the wash and I'm too lazy to research it.

In the early nineties many of the top mushers were adding coconut oil to the musher's mix. At that time the science or claim was it acted as a natural steriod to build muscle mass and improve recovery rate for back to back training days. I tried most diets during that time period but did not try the coconut oil. Everyone was looking for an edge and at that time coconut oil was it.
