I buy blue stripe pillow tick at Walmart in the USA whenever I'm there or I'll get my Brother-In-Law to get me some when he is there. Buy it by the square yard. My patches end up square, more ore less. lol Lubed with bear fat, Liquid Wrench, Mink Oil or whatever I have on hand. You'll get a crapload of patches from a couple square yds.
HA
Edit: mikes out to .018"

I have about two square yards of it , bought it from a mattress manufacturer in Waterloo on. many years ago .
Works great in my .54 cal. Hawken type that I built from a "Sharon Barrel Works " kit, my fourth ML. after a .32 cal. Dixie Gun Works , and two Thompson Center in .50 cal. one flinter and the other percussion.

You guys should try cutting a few of them in the shamrock pattern and see if it helps to keep the patch from bunching up around the ball.

Why when it is just as easy to cut in 1 1/2 inch wide strips, grease the whole thing well, role it up , wrap in wax paper and place into my possible's bag. The rifle shoots accurately and I doubt very much if a shamrock pattern will improve the accuracy .
Someone just trying to sell a possible improvement , ??? and make money.
