She's finally home! 122 days from order to delivery but worth every minute of the wait time. I've got a whopping 42 kilometres on her tonight but what a nice vehicle to drive. You would think it was an SUV based on its road manner. Can't wait to put it to work pulling the toys mixed in with a little bit of off road adventure. The cabin is so quiet you barely hear the engine and the electronics will make a teenager giggle. Happy, happy, happy!

How is it one careless cigarette can cause a forest fire, but it takes a whole box of matches to light a campfire?

to me the ecoboost is still a 6 cylinder, yes its puting out the power that will shame alot of 8's, but when it comes down to brass tax, the 8 is the way to go...
I treat my cummins to an oil change every year and a half or so. Lol. My dad used to check the oil in his once a year. Give it a change every 2 or so. Still ran perfect when he sold it at half a million kms.
That being said, I wouldn't treat a gasser or a newer truck the same way.

I had a client come in with a brand new Hyundai and he said the dealer needs to change his oil every 12k. I get the fact that oil is different and the additives are better but the other reason to bring your vehicle in every 3 months or 5k is to inspect other systems like suspension and brakes. Preventative maintenance is the key for a long lasting vehicle

the owners manual in my 2015 Dodge Ram recommends oil changes every 16,000 kms !!! I can't believe that. I will be changing it every 8000 regardless of what they say. I also always do a transmission and differential/transfer case service every year. My wife's Jeep runs on synthetic oil and gets the same mileage interval service. My truck only has 7000kms on it but after a couple oil changes I will be switching it over to synthetic as well.

That is a sweet looking truck. Starting to see them on the roads now and I find the size probably a better fit for 75% of truck owners. Most people use pickups as daily drivers and rarely use the capability.

This link provides great info on the new ecodiesel. When I'm towing 2-3 ton, I will cut my fuel use by 50%.
