Who's gearing up for sheds?
I know its early yet but its hovering around 0 today so there's some melting going on and I'm already thinking about sheds and woodcock. Who's gearing up for them as well? We're supposed to stay above 0 during the day most of this week so I may get out, even though it won't get rid of the snow in the bush... When do you guys start hitting it hard?

I've never been. Considering it is snowing right now and more snow forecast over the next 14 days, it's gonna be another 4-6 weeks around here.

I'll stay out of the bush until a lot of snow melts off. We have plenty of snow here and I don't want to push the deer around in the deep stuff. It's a workout for me so it must be just as bad for them, but I have more Choices for meals.

What would I do with a shed Nick?
never did understand that.

Has too much time on their hands
Yup, sheds are on my mind. Took a walk with my lab last weekend to check out the local bush for sign and perhaps get lucky and find a shed on top of the snow. No sheds spotted, but there are definitely a bunch of deer wintering in there. We'll be leaving them alone until some bare ground appears.

Smart ... , LOL
Actually I just thought of a use. Can you sell them? I'd buy a small one for my JRT to chew on- an antler bone cost a fortune in the pet store.
