Heard they have headed back south to Louisiana in disgust.
So far this spring there have been 4 field trials and 2 championships (all grouse & woodcock trials) cancelled due to Old Man Winter's grip on us

My daughter had the britt out in the forest on leash yesterday. The dog went on hard point and eventually, my daughter was able to see the woodcock - 45 min. north of barrie - still a foot of snow in the bush. Get out there people...they're back.
A bad day hunting is still better than a good day at work!

Could you tell me if these at Gladwin have been cancelled? I thought I'd make a visit this year but if ......................

Reports from Gladwin look like nothing will be cancelled or moved this year.

Had the dog out this morning, she found two woodcock a little west of London. Birds seemed tired as they only flew a very short distance, must be burned out from the migration.
