You could try for cats in the evening with a simple float rig
In the slanting sun of late afternoon the shadows of great branches reached from across the river, and the trees took the river in their arms

Yes good choice, the dam at Manotic mills has a great honey hole, a big hole where walleye, pike pool. Just climb down the bank, the hole is on the west of dam. Can get busy and check the regs to ensure the season is open at that time for walleye and pike. I take my kids there, lots pan fish, nothing spectacular Next spot is up or down river, another dam can't remember which way, but you can see on google maps. Be prepared to loose a few hooks and lots trees and dam trash on bottom.. All that fails, go to Petrie Island in Orleans and try some shore fishing around the park.

You can follow the road for 5-10 mins and get to the local bait shop for minnows etc. When heading down river rd take a right on Nicolls island rd. You can park on the left hand side. This is the dams, you can walk down the boat lock to the lower part , great pike and bass. You can cross over the road/dam and walk over to the other Lock and below it is prime muskie habitat. At the top near where you parked it mostly pan fish and the odd pike. Minnows work best.

Line052 is it possible for you to point on the map where is a good spot for shore fishing just like what "pearcey" did.

Also I spotted a car parking? is it free parking for public? Sorry for asking noob question. I am new to fishing and never been to this location.

I have attached a map. Thank you
