Gun Silencers
I assume that it is illegal to have a silencer on you gun in Canada - here in the states you can have one but must get a permit for it - it is amazing how they cut down on the noise that a gun makes - you can actually make your own using a oil filter - if your interested in seeing how such a silencer works just google silencers - would really help with you hearing - also while your at it google 22 lr accuracy - there is a site showing some guy shooting a 22 lr and hitting a target 500 yards away - interesting stuff

Gun Silencers
When you take the evils that movies show they really do serve a purpose. I was following what's going on with them in the states with hunting and it seems more and more states are allowing them. I just wonder if they would make it harder to catch poachers.

Yes - I guess if someone wants to poach it would help but then you could always use a bow or crossbow if you don't want to make any noise - I think the benefits would out way the problems created - if a guy is planning on breaking the law he can always put a silencer on his rifle anyway and not care if it is legal or not -

I've watched some hunting shows in Britain, where they were using silencers on their rifles. I wondered if it was actually required to hunt , over there.

I do believe they are required over there. They can also night hunt there with lights and night vision which is pretty cool. Might be only foxes but there's a guy that posts a lot of videos on one of the Facebook groups of his fox hunts, pretty neat.

We can legally hunt at night is Ontario( Raccoons) and use Night vision Scopes. Yes it's only a .22 but at least you only need a Gen 1 scope so that keeps the cost down.
Shooting Raccoons over a bait pile at night with night vision is not only fun, but I argue far safer then a spot lamp beam waving back and forth in the tree branches as you try to shoot a Raccoon in a tree.
Take the warning labels off. Darwin will solve the problem.
