Not yet, soon though, ... there go more jobs out of province! BNN is predicting a 3 Cent per liter tax but it hasn't been explained yet.

Cap and trade..... a way for the gov't to take over $2,000,000,000 out of Canadian taxpayer and business pockets. Creating a market for carbon emissions... IDIOTS.

The insulting thing is that those incompetent liars have no intention of using the taxes raised on any "green" energy initiatives. It is only new money to redistribute among the unions who financed her election. Robin hood in reverse, steal from the poor and give to the rich. Paying carbon taxes won't reduce the amount of carbon emitted only cause inflation. Take enough money from people's pockets and all she will do is shrink the economy except for those on her payroll which are completely insulated from the economic realities. It's quite telling that the other jurisdictions she is partnering up with like Quebec and California are economic basket cases which are basically bankrupt and live off Federal subsidies.

BINGO!!!!
The tax increases, (Ontario Pension, high wage earners, others and now cap and trade....), electricity rates (just got over $75 bill for cottage... ZERO usage), jobs leaving, windmills, sex ed. forced through, Benjamin Levin almost ignored by the media (CBC still "helping" (Wynnes' words)???) etc.... ... on the spending we see teachers get extra, OPP get huge raise.... Nurses must not have been vocal enough.
Hundreds of Ontario nursing positions are on the chopping block, officials say
Many more will be in jeopardy until about mid-June, according to health officials

This province is a mess heading down the drain to a deep dark septic tank!

Nurses are just too good. Not militant enough. They are the "LAST" people that should be on the chopping block in this government. There are probably 2 sunshine list paper pushers for every front line hard working nurse. Far as I'm concerned every nurse should be ON the sunshine list.
This government will cut nurses to pay for pay increases to teachers ???? Unreal. Self serving ya think?

No kidding. I'll bet the definition of what qualifies as a 'green project' will align with where the Liberals were going to have to spend money anyways - like transit. And I'll bet (again) that the government will be handing out exemptions (as they are permitted) to lots of companies. Especially Liberal friendly ones.
If they were really serious about saving the planet, EVERYONE would get taxed to some degree, no escape. This should tell you what the real goal is.

This not about saving the planet. If it was there are tons of areas they could be investing in to clean up. This is about fooling The imbeciles into swallowing even more taxes. She needs $ billions for the upcoming contracts. What percentage of the price of gasoline is a tax right now? What percentage is directed to transportation infrastructure and the environment? Ontario doesn't have a revenue problem, it's the other side of the P/L statement that is out of control.

The next time oil is at $80/barrel we will see gas at $2.00/L.
And I'd like them to explain how motor oil, grease, tranny fluid, etc. stay pretty much constant or at least at the inflation rate. Are they not made from the same barrel as gasoline and diesel, albeit in smaller quantities?

Cant say I haven't been sounding the alarm bells for 8 years. Yep brace yourselves, this lat4est tax...just more of the beginning.

I am almost beyond caring now and have next to no sympathy.
With respect to their gutting of healthcare....
that to was obvious years ago.
Hydro?
I live in a 1,500 sq foot bungalow and while I had my daughter living with me and using an electric heater some over the winter (basement "in law suite") my bills jumped from
$350ish every two months (Aug/Sept and Oct/Nov)
$600+ every two months (Dec/Jan and Feb/Mar)
I'd mention some things about labels I've called and more....and other things about..
Apathy (and that includes not caring enough to see the writing and truth on the wall 6-7 years ago)

Based on what you just posted Jben, I would say her strategy is working as planned. In her first year of a majority mandate she will front load new and higher taxes. There is so many taxes and so many scandals that people get "de-sensitized" to it and it becomes the new normal. In her last year she will project a ridiculously high deficit and come in lower ( still a deficit though) and the imbeciles will chug the koolaid. The unions will have big fat contracts and the campaign money will flow as always. Without campaign funding law changes we will never get rid of her. Not unlike trying to flik a snot off your finger.

My "battle" if you will, has been pull back the curtains, clear some of the smoke and if nothing else get "people" more politically aware. The Apathy (both kinds) in Ontario is...
"no-ones fault but ours"
It's on us to hold them accountable and no-one but us.
I'll still talk "politics" with family/friends etc and that includes a lot of PS people who started seeing things some years ago, or if not then by 2014. I don't have much sympathy for the GTA (some others) and what ever comes. Who knows, might hazard a guess that with less pocket money, a lot less (see just the new crap in 1 year) debt up to the eyeballs, and eventually rising interest rates and a potential real estate market correction....It could get really ugly in the GTA.
Add Boomers and the strains they will be adding and.......
It's ironic to see this making the rounds today (news and social media) as well
https://www.oma.org/Pages/default.aspx
But hey whatever, Im just a hater of teachers, PS, and more I've been labeled here.
So many adages I might add
You reap what you sow
The govt you deserve
and more
