Dog owner forced to sit in her hot car by police.
Friday, April 24, 2015, 9:28 AM - An Ohio police officer ordered a woman to sit inside her hot car as a punishment for leaving her dog unattended in the vehicle earlier this month.
According to 19 News Cleveland, the woman left the dog inside a Nissan Sentra at a Wal-Mart parking lot with the windows rolled up.
A passerby noticed and called police.
When the woman returned to her vehicle, the officer ordered her to sit in the car with the windows rolled up as a punishment.
Both the woman and dog were fine -- but the officer said the woman "looked uncomfortable."
The woman was not charged and was given a warning.
Officials are taking the opportunity to remind the public to never leave children and pets unattended in hot cars.
Temperatures can rise quickly inside a vehicle, resulting in heat exhaustion and -- in some cases -- death.

I understand what the officer was doing, and am in no way condoning what the woman did, she should be charged, but would that not be considered unlawful confinement?

That's why I think this is a BS story for public service awareness. That's what courts and judges are for.

If the story is true, would you take the fine instead?

that's a bit different than "the cop made her sit" if she chose to sit instead of the fine I would of done it too.
