Thanks to the Flanagans
Just got home from spending a couple days in NY at Grouse Ridge.
Pete & Katie are 2 of my favourite people involved with bird dogs.
Took Sally Tap Dance down to breed to Force and spent the rest of the time wandering around the farm, looking at pups, and listening to Pete recount some amazing tails from several generations of field trial/setter folks. (Not to mention the good red wine)
I hope I convinced him that he should get some of the stories written down.
If nothing else they would make some great articles in the American Field but I think a book is in order.

Absolutely. Their contribution is immeasurable.

I had called Pete about a month-and-a-half ago on behalf of a customer. I immediately got a return call from Pete while he was in Florida. He told me to go to the farm in NY as his son Tom was there and could help me out. Amazing.....
They are tremendous ambassadors whose long rich history in setters is incredible but more importantly they are salt-of-the-earth kind of folk.
Tim, you raise a good point! What an awesome treasure that book would make!!

Congratulations. Second in the National Walking Shooting Dog Futurity with 29 dogs is a solid placement. I didn't know John bred setters
Is he out of Bud?

I think it's more seeing the light than coming to the darkside
Who is Stella out of?
