Most people will register if a LEO shows up knocking on their door.

Why would a Leo show up at the door?
the data was deleted wasn't it?
they would need more than an old out of date list to get a warrant as well.

I would make a deal with the NDP, if they get an elected majority and abolish the senate, I will register one long gun. All in that particular order.

Not registering,if required, isn't a big deal if you don't intend to use your firearms and keep them buried in the back yard, but,if you are found to be in possession of an unregistered firearm when hunting, the same laws that apply to inner city gangbangers would also apply to you. The police don't need data from the old registry. If there's a registration order, all they need to do is go to the PAL database, cross reference with a new registry list and that'll give them all they need to knock on your door. It would be a no-brainer to presume firearms possession. Why else would an individual have one? Now,do you really want to go there? Do you really believe a government would trash another entire industry over a skewed ideology? Wait! ...........Don't answer that.

I didn't say that. I said the sky isn't falling.
They will do something. But they're not going to confiscate everything in sight.

I never said they would ban everything in sight. Muclair will bring back some sort of registry and he will ban all semi auto's. I doubt he will ban bolt action or single shot. However Pumps difficult to say. I also suspect he will out right ban handgun ownership.

I can see something like the Australian model absolutely. I wonder how the duck hunters who will vote them in will feel if their semiauto shotguns become illegal?

I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Trudeau has hinted strongly at that, Muclair hasn't said anything but just smirk.

Unlikely on both counts, I'd say.
