Moose tag arrived in the mail today

Calf tag here, which was expected after bull last year. Even with the tag cuts, still can't wait until I get up north and spend sometime in the woods.

After many years of hunting this is it for our group this year. No tag, calf only, just got it in the mail today. I see someone here got 3 bull tags, wow quite the system the mnr has. Good for you guys though enjoy it because big game hunting is slowly becoming a thing of the past here unless the numbers somehow start to rise. I feel sorry for all the outfitters, cottage owners, gas stations, restaurants, small communities, butchers etc etc that always could count on us crazy big game hunters to flow up north and throw some cash into their pockets. Good luck with your hunts and try to leave some for us next year.

If theres anyone with a bow bull tag in 15b or 13 that needs a solid group of 4 with gear and cabin were it, otherwise the wait is on till next year.

I'm not sure I fully understand your post. When you applied did you have enough pool A for a guarantee? Also, you can get as many tags as you want depending how many pool A you have the the wmu you apply in. You mention a bull in 13... Without checking I don't think there were any bull tags for 13 so not getting 1 there shouldn't be a surprise.

Finally tally for our group is 1 Bull and 2 Cows, we'll see if there are any moose to fill those tags.

Our group was succesful in drawing a bull and cow tag for wmu# 19 for the rifle season

these are bull tags for the bow hunt! We're a group of 10. We took a gamble and got 3! We are extremely happy!

But we're in one of those kill all the moose to starve the wolves to save the caribou 10 yrs from now WMU's!

Just because we got tags does not mean we're going to see anything. There are lots of BOW surplus in our WMU also.

We're going to have to hunt our azzes off and hope for perfect weather if we even have a chance of seeing something.

We needed 3 tags because if we only had one we (all 10) of us would need to party hunt and ALL stay within 5 kilometers. This would be a tough thing to do. With the new regs shifting all the calf tags to the first 2 weeks of the gun season WE bow hunters got a good screwin.

Anyway this problem was discussed in earlier posts. The only way for us to hunt with any type of sanity was to take a gamble and try for 3 tags. We got lucky is all I can say. We will be calling in for some cow tags too. We have NO intention of using the cow tags. If we can get any it will just make it easier for smaller groups to party hunt.
