Both have stated that Semis were not needed by hunters. In fact didn't Muclair say the 7.62x39 was more powerful then any hunter needed.

It's quite clear that neither of those two leftwing knuckleheads have a firkin' clue what they're talking about. Why else would supposedly intelligent men say such ridiculous things? It begs the question of where and from whom are they getting their information? Are there no hunters, farmers and target shooters anywhere in their party ranks? Mulcair and Trudeau absolutely have to be twins because no one person can be that stupid.

If he did then it pretty well shows us he knows nothing about firearms which is quite common for those who want to ban them.

Naah. Trudeau is truly thick. Mulcair is quite intelligent just ideologically defective. Mulcair will reduce JT to a blubbering mass in the debates I would expect.

Fewer guns, less violence (#151) would commit a future Liberal government to make "reducing the number of firearms in Canada through initiatives inspired by the Australian model" the "primary objective" of its firearms policy.

    Resolution 42.

WHEREAS automatic and semiautomatic weapons are illegal
    for hunting purposes; and
WHEREAS automatic and semi automatic weapons do not
    support the hunting culture found in all parts of Canada;
BE IT RESOLVED that the Liberal Party of Canada urges the
Government of Canada to support legislation to eliminate the
personal use of automatic and semi automatic weapons

and we can hear what Mulcair has to say in Brian Lilleys video.

Seems very clear what they are thinking to me.

    P.S.

Trudope does that to himself every time he is interviewed.
Do the Liberals really believe that automatic "weapons" are currently legal for hunting?

nope, but they want non hunters / non gun owners to believe it so they will vote for them.

just like Trudeau was quoted saying that the common sense firearm act would allow people to take hand guns to the grocery stores and kids soccer games. He knew he was lying when he said it.

The fact that the NDP platform already has a firearms policy, and it doesn't include a plan to ban semi-autos or create a new registry.

Stephen Harper has made all kinds of statements in the past that he never followed through on as PM. He has in fact done things that are directly contrary to previous statements. All politicians do. So I don't consider that any past statement by Trudeau or Mulcair is any more meaningful than anything Harper said in defining a hidden agenda.

Others here like to catastrophize. What makes them do that? Eternal pessimism?

Well, I think the best place to ask questions and make accusations like this is at the candidates' meetings during the campaign. But I have a funny feeling everyone will be too busy on those nights.

What politicians say during a campaign isn't usually what happens if they win. People like Mulcair are smart enough to not play their hand but that doesn't mean they don't have an agenda. Mulcair and Trudough will attack legal gun owners as soon as they can.
