I recognize that dock Pete. Checked out the entire area in the truck as well including going around Bark Lake. Very nice area. I've been to the Madawaska side before but this was my first time in the part of the Madawaska around Combermere.
But did you catch any fish? Glad to hear that you had good weather.

I didn't do a whole lot of fishing Pete. I made a few casts down in the marshy area where the river splits, but I was having fun checking out the area. I covered a lot km's by water (and road) and swam. Checked out a few properties as well.
The entire area offers great ATV trails, decent fishing, and a decent sized water system.

Sounds like you had a good time. I don't want to hijack your post but I am curious about the fishing as well. I will be heading that way the week after Labour Day and will be staying on the river pretty much between Kamaniskeg Lake and Combermere. I only have access to a canoe so I wasn't planning on hitting the big lake. Would my best bet be to stay on the river or venture to Blackfish Bay or down to Negeek Lake? Walleye, pike and bass will be on the list. Any info at all would be very helpful and appreciated.
