Not looking good
Bury your money and guns boys, the Huns are at the gates. I think it would take a miracle for Harper to win now.

Has too much time on their hands
The Conservatives were at a disadvantage right from the get-go, for no other reason that they have been in power (including their minorities) for over a decade. Voters get fickle and fidgety; wanting change for no reason other than change. Its not right, but its reality.
Modern-era Federal politics has always swung between the Cons and Liberals and it will inevitably swing again. I accept that. What scares the h3ll out of me is the rising NDP popularity; they sure have cornered the vote of the naïve slacktivist crowd.

The NDP will be the next government. It will be a minority with no control of the Senate but yeah, socialists running the country.

The predictions are for the possibility of a minority government. Justin has already stated that he is not interested in a coalition with any party. I suspect that not much will get done until another election is called when parliament dissolves due to a non confidence vote.

As opposition in a minority JT will have quite a bit of power, especially when you factor in the Liberal Senators . Harper will resign right after the election if the Cons end up in 3rd place which looks very possible right now. We are in for a decade of Socialism.

I think that captures it pretty well.
In general, change is good. if you have any government for more than 2-3 terms you'll see issues. people had to make decisions, and not everything is right in hindsight, and those in power are always on the defensive.
you can change the line-up, but people would not care (even notice). we are completely front-runner focused. there are those who will vote how their grandparents voted, a very small percentage will actually look into what a party stands for and is going to do if elected, for the rest (if they vote in the first place) it goes like this:
SH: in power for long, current situation not good, get rid of him
JT: looks, friendly, fresh - but kind of a dumb kid
TM: has some gray hair - not a kid, will bring change, let's go for him
Nietzsche said that democracy is bound to fail, because people are too stupid and selfish for it.

It goes in phases. There was a time when the Conservatives were decimated to a couple seats Federally after Mulroney but Harper is finishing up his 3rd mandate. Mulcair doesn't have the constitutional right to ammend the Senate like he says he will so he may never have control of it in his mandate, if he even appoints on Senator he will also be the hypocrite he accused Harper of being. That and a minority government means very little may get done. Harper is done, problem is I don't see any stars in the party to replace him.
