So,if this clown has a criminal record and just got of jail, how did he get his hands on a gun? Somebody had to know what was going on with him. Why didn't anyone give the Police a heads up before it got to this point?

Yeah! Everybody knows that thanks to the concealed carry laws in the U.S., nobody ever gets murdered by angry (and crazy) people down there.
Anyways, this is a tragic example of how multiple systems (justice, law enforcement, etc) have failed to protect the public. Unfortunately, these three ladies have paid the price for these failures.

to acquire guns off the street is easy once you've made connection from inside (prison) to outside (criminal network), a lot of cops/detectives know this. the whole incident is driven by a motive, its not random. the targets were handpicked; that's how I see it.

One of the victims had a restraining order against him and had repeatedly told police, family & friends that she was absolutely certain he was coming for her once released. She was right.
The guy is a first rate psychotic. He'd planned this for a while and had threatened dozens of people.
Getting his hands on a gun wouldn't be hard with his pre OR post prison connections. Hell, he may have had it stashed and unseized prior to his old weapons related offences. Half the guys on these boards have guns stashed away in case the registry ever returns.

The Ottawa shooter had a rifle buried in his mother's garden. A nut is going to act like a nut,no matter what methods we put in place to prevent it.

Exactly the same position my friend is in. The criminal in her case uses knives. Good suggestions in previous posts, but if someone wants to kill you .............

So some guy says that he is going to kill you someday - so what do you do - sit around and wait for it to happen - or pray that he has a change of heart - or maybe move across the country and hope he doesn't find out where you now live - no - you do something that will allow you to defend yourself when the time comes - and the best way is to arm yourself - Fox - it's kinda hard to be carrying a shotgun around with you but you can easily carry a handgun - so as I said - down here she would get a handgun to carry wherever she goes - and when the big day arrives and the guy comes to kill her - surprise, surprise -

Joe is the guy taking it off the track. I am appealing to him not to do that!! Every thread does NOT have to be about American guns!
