13 PTR - 5 years in the making

We have been chasing this guy for past 5 years. Passed on many smaller bucks and does in the process always hoping for a crack at this guy..(TAG Soup at the end of each season). Patience paid off this year (and luck).

We had great night pics early season of nice bucks and does... then all deer disappeared mid-late Oct (at least from our cameras). Coyotes were the only daily visitors.

This paticular morning i laid a good sent drag from my truck to my stand. After 1 hr of periodic rattling and grunts (and candy crush) I heard something running towards me from behind. As the time was 7:50 am i fully expected the brown coloured intruder to be the daily coyote visitor and I prepared to get him. But to my surprise it was the big buck , running at good speed. I brought my crossbow up , saw brown and pulled the trigger. It happened so fast i do not even remember seeing my crosshairs. He continued running and hopped the back cedar fence. We found him 100 yards in the thick cedars.

I hit him at 10 yards from my stand. He is becoming my wall mount.
