Guesses for first day on ice?
I have no idea what to expect this year. Such strange weather! Any guesses as to when we will get out on the ice....
Let's use lake simcoe as a guessing point. I'm thinking mid Jan! Maybe earlier for ponds. But at this rate I'm worried there will be no season...

It is not looking good on the long range forecast for my area. I will be lucky to be out before Christmas on Rice.

I did hear from someone yesterday that said it was supposed to be the warmest winter in 18 years. I guess thats what the weather people say anyway.
I hope is freezes on time like always average should have ice on perch grounds just after Christmas.
Last year i was cooch on the 9th of December, was hoping for the same but thats not going to happen.

It can change quickly but I don't see any ice making weather for the next 14 days. The water is cold enough to freeze though.

Yesterday Chemong had a skim of ice that lasted for the entire day in area's that didn't get the wind. All we need is a few - temp nights and days for it to form... the water temp is there and ready.
