Rules you don't know about!! (bear)
Found out from a fellow outfitter, who was at a NOTO workshop, that one of the new potential bait regulations will be that 1-each bait will have to be marked as a bear bait site. 2-This is along with only 10 kg's of bait, 3- only baiting 2 weeks before the hunt start and 4- must hang the baits.
Good way to tell anti bear hunters where to harass you while hunting.
If your trying to keep human scent to a minimum, will it be compromised by CO's checking up on your site to see if it's legal??

and this question is what scares me!!
Then very few hunters will hunt bears and bear population will explode!! No baiting will be counter productive to their problem of " Too Many Bears".
no baiting will cause more cubs to be orphaned...
But... I will take what they give us.

With these new rules only bear hunters will be locals and outfitters. They just killed the bear hunt for more than half the bear hunters.

Because of the new rules many outfitters will opt out of any bear hunt, spring or fall. Many residents will follow suit.

Outfitters with established baits will still see bears come to their baitsites even with bait amount restrictions.
But their biggest complaint by far will be the added expense of having to bait more often because of these restrictions and this is a serious issue as some outfitters drive upwards of 75 plus miles to tend their baits.

Has too much time on their hands
Why would they check your bait site? On private property, no one will know. On crowns, either obey by the rules or be smart about it and CO don't have extra time so if there is no complaint they probably won't know.

What exactly does must hang the bait mean? A 45 gallon drum bolted to a tree 2 ft in the air?
Things that fly turn me on

NET ZERO! Isn't it so much like a "progressive" government to re-institute a Bear hunt, then, make everything around it so restrictive that it's impossible to accomplish. That's the "old carrot and stick trick" to get votes, isn't it? Gee,whoda thunk that?
