if one changes something or proposes to, one needs to describe
    a) the current & unfavorable situation
    b) the future & desirable situation
    c) the justification for the change

the election promises leave a lot of interpretation room on the how and what it will actually mean. the only thing that is so far clear is that they will have to act in some form or another on it before the next election
given their majority and attitude, I see the very real possibility of "over achievment" on these topics - makes great headlines just before an election...

Continuing to assert that the promises are vague doesn't make it true. The majority of the Liberal proposals are in fact quite clear.

In reference to vagueness, this is my take on it. The Liberals are stating that the provision of the ATT being an automatic condition of the RPAL will be repealed. Sounds pretty definitive, yet what is going to be the new implementation? Will it revert to the old method of multiple levels of ATT? Will one have to apply for each and every condition? Given the general misunderstanding of this government I am not confident that they won't come up with something even more ruinous.
So if one is stating that the promises are clear, that may be true. What is unclear is how miserable can they make gun owners?

"Repeal" implies return to the previous state of the law. It's not ambiguous.

It as quite clear he would not spend more then 10 billion, but that has now become a guide line he said. They are making the rules as they see fit.

Go to the link and read the last line of the article, over and over again. ' The federal government will not create a new long gun registry' , Trudeau said.
