Wow sounds like a real productive spot!!!!! Why would you even want to hunt this parcel of land if there is that much pressure put on it, 15 stands and bait sites on a small parcel of land??? Ya don't think I would waste my time setting up my own stand/blind let alone sitting in someone eases. Put some gas in your truck, knock on some doors and find a spot with a little less pressure.....maybe you will actually have some success. Personally don't understand how anyone who hunts in SW Ont. can only rely on the few public spot that are here and are always over run...........is it laziness?? Spend more time scouting, less time posting trolling threads on the internet...........

Oh and ya if I was to rely on hunting public land and came across someones setup I would not be taking a seat, I would be moving on to find a spot less pressured!
I love fishing but REALLY it is just a way to pass time until hunting season!!!!

Well - I'll tell you what I would do - it some guy put up a stand on public land and wasn't using it I would sit in it - if the guy who put it up came along I would leave and let him use it - if he wasn't using it why not use it yourself - no harm done - as far as a bait pile goes - deer need to travel to the pile so if you pick out a trail leading to the pile you don't have to sit right on top of it -

Many years ago a buddy of mine put up a wooden tree stand on public land - one day when he went to use it some other guy was sitting in it - my buddy told the guy that he put it there and wanted to use it - the guy sitting in the stand kept ignoring him - so my buddy starting building a fire at the base of the tree - the other guy got out of the tree stand when the smoke started getting to him -

Not directed at you Joe, but......

If I understand this thread correctly..... If I build a tree stand on public land, its mine to use whenever I want. I can lay claim to this spot/area anytime of day. I don't have to be the first one there? If this is correct, (sarcasm coming) this is great.... I can build a few tree stands on a few different public lands down here over the summer and have a guaranteed stand and area to hunt to myself anytime of day... all on public land too.... wow silly me, all this time I thought public land down here was for all to use and not lay claim to it, I guess I have been doing it all wrong..... Thanks for clearing things up for me. (sarcasm ends)....
    This is just plain, silly....
Don't build it in the first place and/or take it out with you when you leave....it's public land, not my private land because I erected a tree stand.
The truly lazy people are not the ones looking for a place to hunt, its the guys/gals they have found one and are too lazy to take their gear off the public land after each hunt. Remember the OP is talking, southern Ontario, which equals small acreage blocks surrounded by private land. We are not talking big Northern bush lots here...

Never use a tree stand where they're prohibited because saying "It's not my stand,Officer" ain't gonna cut it. If you're in it,it's yours. YOU get the tickey and the bill for removal whether it's yours or not.
