Still using my boat. Still catching walleye and perch. Still plan to for at least another 10 days or so looking at the weather forecast.

Hoping to to go New Year's Day an celebrate my birthday fishing in my boat. It will be a first if it happens, but looking very possible.

Well finally snowed here in Peterborough! And looking at the forecast consistently below 0 for the next week. So I am getting excited at the prospect of an ice season soon!

Only some very small patches on Scugog. Mostly,it's wide open enough to take a boat out. No doubt, there'll be some cadavers fished out soon enough. Some folks seemto shut their brains off. The water temp off the north end of Scugog Island was still 41F. Ice fishing could be a bust this year, especially with Walleye being closed.

My area has about 2". We would of had 4" if we would not have got all that snow. I have been on the ice since Dec 30, walk the bush until you get to a spot and chisel your way out. Crossing water is not an option.

Sorry i am straying away from the original post. My area is North Bay, if we only have 2" on small back lakes i would imagine that Simcoe has none. So my guess for Simcoe would be late January early February.
