Guesses for first day on ice?

Just poked the ice with the tractor bucket, expecting to find about 4". Only 1" along the shoreline under 10" of snow. If the sledders would pack down that snow then the ice would thicken.......minus 20 something tonight and again Monday night might make a difference . Below zero all week coming during the day.

I made it out this morning on a local pond. 3 1/2 inches. Just wanted to remember what it's like to fish hard water lol. Just stayed by shore and got a few small perch and gills. Figured it was either now or not again for a few weeks. Been checking the ice on this lake each day on my way home from work. It's nice and small and sheltered so always freezes up fast. Hopefully when I head up north of perry sound to the cottage next weekend that things will be good and safe up there. Who knows. Crazy that people were out on couch already!!! That's big water. Thought I was being reckless!!!!!!! Haha
