    Default First Long Rifle Build

Hi all, just thought I would share my winter project with the community. I am building a .50 cal. flintlock rifle which was started by an older Gentleman who passed away last year. The barrel, ramrod groove and lock were almost completely inlet when I got it. I am at the point of shaping the stock down to the proper dimensions. If and when the Canadian dollar smartens up, I will be ordering some parts to finish. I still need double set triggers and guard, a nose cap, sights and touch hole liner. I have a lock and butt plate already. Here are a few pics. (action shots) LOL............................Daniel146_3371.jpg146_3372.jpg

I needed a riser for my Long Hawken style Buckhorn rear sight so I took a piece of 1/8" thick brass and filed all day to make fit.146_3374.jpg146_3375.jpg146_3377.jpg146_3376.jpg
