    Default life below zero

Any one watching the show. The hailstones are hunting for caribou and I feel so bad for her .she carries that old 10lbs bolt action rifle with open sight the darn gun is bigger then her. I just seen her shot into the herd 5 6 times and she got lucky and hit one. I would love to send her out a little model 7 in 308 or a ruger ultra light she would do so much better . It us hard to watch her lugging that old bolt around ...lol . Dutch

Maybe she only uses that old gun when they are filming and has an AR15 under the covers - she and her husband seem like nice people - heck of a way to live though - I watch that and a couple other Alaskan shows - in another show - Yukon Men - the guys all have AR type rifles for hunting and trapping - I like watching those cold, snowy shows while in my nice warm den -

Wouldn't surprise me if it is just for show. My experience from living in the Canadian arctic most of the inuit have very nice rifles, skidoos and boat motors.

    But everyone is different.

Well, they do manage to kill the odd caribou, bear, moose, or deer once in a while. Certainly some reality in that.

Thousands and thousands in boat motors and snowmobiles but an old Mosin for a hunting rifle and cannot even patch a hole in their tarp, I thought exactly the same thing. If you notice the younger guy, the trapper and his wife, they have really nice stuff and a really nice house but they are doing it living off the land.

I enjoy the show but that one family just throws me, they talk about how you need to treat the animals right but then they just blast away too far for their abilities and with poor angles on the game. Maybe they are staging how bad they are at shooting but it seems like every episode that they hunt they miss 75% of the time, if not more.

I was watching one of those shows last night - Yukon Men - the one guy cuts firewood to get extra cash - he has a son named Francis - boy this kid is really dense - I don't know if he just acts stupid for the TV show or he is really that stupid - when he starts thinking you can see the smoke coming out of his ears -
