Ford also took bailout money - although in the form of a loan, which I don't think has been repaid to the US government.
I don't think any Canadian banks have been bailed out.

Not sure what to believe anymore but some could say they have been bailed out, and some will call it differently.....

" CMHC mortgage program aided banks
One of the most well-known ways in which policymakers helped the banks during the crisis is through a $69-billion CMHC program whereby the housing agency took mortgages off the balance sheets of big Canadian banks. In contrast with other support facilities, all of the funds granted by the CMHC were through selling assets (in this case mortgages) to the housing agency. They were not funds that had to be paid back.
"
I wouldn't call that a bailout. That's an insurance payout. The mortgages are insured by CMHC. Banks accept them as insured mortgages and if the mortgagee defaults, CMHC pays out. Not really a bailout in that its not government money. It's premiums paid by mortgagees over the years.

Bought a KIA Optima in 2012 and my next purchase in 2017 will be a KIA Sorento extended AWD or a Toyota 4x4 truck extended cab. The KIA Optima has been the very best car I have ever owned and just put my first set of brakes on it at 183,000kms.

2015 Ram 1500 Big Horn.
Why?
Dual Exhaust. (sounds sweet)
Hemi engine. (what's not to like about a crazy amount of power & V8 rumble)
Towing capacity 10,800lbs (I don't own a trailer that heavy but you never know)
Payload 1686lbs (that's a lot of stuff)
8 speed tranny (better fuel economy than most V6 trucks)
Space (I have the Crew cab & 6.4' box) (I can live in this truck & haul a lot of Dead deer when needed)
20" wheels (Nice)
Navigation.
Tow hooks in front to pull out stumps
Trailer tow package
Power folding mirrors
Sprayed in bed liner
Power rear window
A flat floor in the back sat that my Lab loves...
Made in Michigan...
Did I mention a Hemi with dual exhaust???
There is more but I don't want to bore you.
All this & a 6 year warranty & oh ya 0% financing for 6 years. My payment is lower than the Wife's Honda CRV 4 year lease... LOL
So far so good.
20" wheels

I got 9 grand off the sticker and 0% for 6 years as well. It's being Line x'ed today and I pick her up this evening. Already have a tint appointment for tomorrow. New tires are in (will sell new stock tires on KIJIJI) and level kit should arrive in mail today.
This time I'm going for a Bak Revolver X2 tonneau. There's no perfect tonneau out there but this seems to be the closest for my needs.
Now I need to figure out the electronics. Sync 3/touch screen/nav/etc?
