you know that we have an incredible dept. we spend more money on interest than we put into education. but education is important, isn't it? so for good education you should pay teachers good money. and there are also other important things we need to pay for like the Toronto gay parade. don't get upset, it's the only parade that is tax payer funded. a few cents at the pump are a small sacrifice we have to make. so maybe you feel more 'pride' the next time you fuel up your truck LOL

Our debt is expected to exceed $300 billion which costs taxpayers over $10 billion a year in interest.

The $$ from this latest tax grab at the pump is designated to the "climate change fight" - in other words (and IMO) the government is using the climate change/global warming/world is ending angle to justify taking more money from the consumer. So really this tax isn't helping to go towards anything that will benefit us.

I found it funny people were so happy that gas was cheaper thinking they were saving money. The the reality is we were not saving any money since the cost of many other things went up so that either offset or exceeded the savings at the pump.

Its hard to explain to Liberals how the economy works since they are bent on ensuring money is distributed to pay for the next special interest group that wants a handout from the public purse. And of course this includes the Unions.
Until the PS is brought into alignment with the real needs the debt will continue to climb and the taxes will continue to be levied.

look to Scandinavia. oh, don't forget, they lost most of their entire manufacturing industry, too. so, let's see how long their economies are going to survive. don't forget that they take up uneducated & socially incompatible by the hundred-thousands, which certainly is not going to help from an economic standpoint.
having said that, shouldn't we all feel better that we are not there YET?

You may not know this but we were paying $0.37 a liter now we will be paying $042 a liter.
    Times 3.8 = about $1.45 a gallon tax.
I can purchase gas in the USA for $1.37 a gal.

I think it is crazy how much tax is on fuel already .you think if gas was back up to 1.30$a liter people would be complaining more about the hike. You hear nothing on the news about it are people just blind to the fact that the libs are screwing us .Thy just don't care as thy will nor be in power when it is time to pay all this back.

Come on people, it's not that hard to figure out... It only makes sense that we're seeing a tax on gas, it's needed to pay for the gas plants... that's how they grow gas right?
