The Rebel Media vs NDP
Well Rachel Notley is going to get her nose rubbed in it. I am hoping that Ezra takes this one all the way. The idea that a provincial government can appoint someone to make a determination of who is a journalist is very very disturbing. My only surprise in this is that Wynne didn't already try this.

Justin was probably hoping she would win, he used to run away from Sun reporters all the time and even openly declared he was boycotting them at one time, and the funniest thing was the one time a CTV (I think) reporter asked him a hard question he asked if they were from the Sun... the only ones asking real questions I guess. The left funds CBC to the tune of $1,000,000,000 a year and they Liberals just gave them about a 20% increase yet they rant about Ezra all the time, Wynnes first comments were to thank CBC for all "their hard work" in her getting elected and yet they so much just hate his voice... I love it!
In scale he isn't even a sliver in the little toe yet they rant like crazy, dismiss and now so blatantly show how they want to muzzle the media that even the left chimed in. CBC still did stories half slaming them, dismissing them and insulting yet it was so blatant they had to stand against Notley... not so much with Ezra, just against Notley... must gall them to be on the same side of something.

Notely even cancelled a press conference right before theRebel got there... coincidentally.

Oh and the writer of the book on Notely (the Destroyers) is happy, it is now #2 on Amazon and #1 in it's category.

mosquito, I can't help but agree. Yet the sad part is that though this is so obvious there will remain those on the left that will continue to deny that the media (left-wing) continues to support the socialist agenda. They just don't get it and this blatant faux pas just highlights that censorship that has been so pervasive.
Sadly nothing will clean up the CBC (aka Communist Broadcasting Cabal)...

Levant must be really happy; the CBC reporting on him and his outlet and finally coming to the conclusion that he is (or isn't) just as much a journalist as anyone else who proclaims to be one (and that would include the CBC).
Levant takes every opportunity he gets and for the most part it serves him well. You can agree or disagree with therebel. Actually, I find it hard that anyone could agree with all of what they broadcast. Look at the characters they have there (they could not be more different); I bet even Ezra might have a very different opinion on some topics. So, I guess the name is program - being a rebel and allowing free speech.
Free speech is what is missing in this country lately, and Levant just made his mark and his strategy to brand 'free-speech' for his little crowd-funded outlet seems to work out; especially after twitter and facebook rolled out censorship programmes.
I've been watching therebel more and more in recent weeks; you have to take it with a grain of salt (just like any other broadcaster or newspaper)! However, in the end they are quite frank about where they stand (unlike the established media) and are even willing to entertain critique and respond to negative feedback.

The Rebel is small potatoes in that industry but then again if they were given $ 1 billion a year of free money I'm sure it's product would be more polished. I think it's basically run out of his house.
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

they are less than a small potato; they position themselves as complimentary and that's already a big shoe to fill.
the very sad part is that we have a real need someone to tell the other side of the story that big media will not report on!
unless they find a way to ban him, which is unlikely unless he messes up royally, or the big guys throw their ideology based and bias agenda overboard (which is even less likely), he will continue to be a rising star.
the pitfall is that he needs money (and quite a bit of it) if he wants to reach the general public. I hope he never puts growth as a priority as they would loose their independence (just like the CBC).

I like the Rebel Media personally. Brian Lilley works hard to support gun owners. Even as right wing as I am, I don't always swallow all the Ezra has to feed. Having said that, it is a great to wade into a media group that doesn't think the sun shine out of JTs arse...

The Rebel is now standing up with the Vice in it's infringement attempt by the RCMP
http://www.therebel.media/rcmp_vs_vi...a_using_courts
Journalist Ben Makuch was able to interview former Calgary resident and suspected Islamic State militant, Mohamed Farook Shirdon, by tracking him down using social media.
While it’s understandable why the mounties want to speak with this terrorist who has threatened Canada, they shouldn’t be forcing a media outlet to hand over information on a source because it would set a dangerous precedent
I agree and as much as I would like to see this guy thrown under the prison allowing the RCMP this would be another infringement I have to admit would not be a step forward.

If an outfit like The Rebel can find a terrorist among our midst,WTF is the problem with the RCMP? GEEZUS,what an inept bunch.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

The rebel didn't find him. The Vice news outlet did.
