You may not need pesticides if the wild pigs get in here, they can destroy a field of crops in no time flat.

Reconsider Wild Boar Hunting

The issue with Texas, they still haven't undertstood how to hunt them. Killing them one at the time seating in a blind or a tree stand over a bait pill or using a pit bull and wait for it to catch one doesn't do it. This thing need to be kill by the dozen with hounds (just like coyote hunting) and that's why they finally found help from accross the ocean to teach them how to.
And I too believe they will be there someday.
Lol, texan's don't know how to kill stuff. Hahahahaha. For $500 you can shoot pigs outta a helicopter with a 50 cal
If they can't keep the pig pop in check we def couldn't.

Hogs would be an invasive species just like Asia Carp, they would upset the balance. USA can keep both IMO

Well, the last I read they kill roughly 750.000 wild boar per year using every sinlge way they can and 365 days a year.
Some countries of the same size as Texas and same boar population kill 500.000 per year but can only hunt them with a gun following hunting regulation for 5 month of the year and have to buy tags for them... So, yes I think they could do better.
