Aside from anything else, it speaks well to what "plagues" the U.S., the politics and the polarization. Trump really is just a symptom. It boggles me that so many "blame" Trump including politicians. When they really should be asking, why is he so popular, what are we doing wrong.
the series Newsoom is actually really good, and delves into some of the political issues. Shame it only ran 3 seasons

HBO. I watched it off Android but am sure there are dvd sets out and think it can be streamed direct from HBO Canada.
Well worth it Terry. Could be the best series I've watched in years. Aside from good acting and brilliant writing, it's made more interesting by following and "reporting" on real life events. Various political event s(including the Koch brothers), election, rise of the tea party, Boston Marathon bombing, etc etc.
In short, a "newsroom" that recognizes the media is part of the problem, doesn't report the news and facts without bias (the CBC), relying on $, rating numbers etc, etc...."Imagine" a news syndicate that actually reported the news, just facts (see opening monologue from season 1). Thats not to say the shows sticks to just facts, but thats one of the underlying plot lines.

I'll look for it. Sounds like my kind of show. Finishing up house of cards, and just started season 1 of sons of anarchy. Don't watch regular TV.

House of Cards. Another decent one. It "lost" me after season 3. You may have noticed the writer's the same.

No JoePa isn't crying in his sleep because JoePa agrees that his country is not what it used to be - I've mentioned that fact a number of times in posts that I made - we have lost our soul and I'm the first one to admit it - we were once a moral nation - built on Christian beliefs and principles - on the rule of law - we gave our blood and treasure for causes that we thought were just - now the progressive liberals have gotten a foot hold and have steered this once great nation on a course of destruction - and who is to blame - the people - so self centered - give me, give me - the youth of today don't even value the freedom and liberty so many died for - electing Obama is just one example of what is going on - is there any hope - I don't know - there are a lot of us who recognize what is going on but I'm not sure if we are the majority - this next election will tell - if a progressive like Clinton gets elected - it is all over but the shouting -
I was once proud to be an American - I'm a Korean war vet but I find today that I have little in common with my country - we support things today that we were ashamed of years ago - our government officials are corrupt and nothing happens - the press is in the back pocket of the liberals - you can't believe anything that you read - we are broke because the people vote for the politician who will give them free stuff never thinking how it is going to be paid for - I'm afraid that the shining city on a hill is going dark unless some big changes happen - the US was great at one time but not anymore -
