What's even more interesting is Nix shampoo for head lice has permetherin as the main ingredient. So if it's safe enough to put on children's heads, why can't we put it on our clothes? Someone told me once the approval process is manufacturer driven and if the manufacturer doesn't push for an approval it won't happen. One would think with the serious problem in Ontario, the government would push for this though.

I checked it out Saturday as I seen it behind the country well waiting on something else. I asked the pharmacist about it . It only has 5 percent. .so it is very week. Compared to the stuff we get from the Usa 95 percent. Dutch

Got my sawyers spray in today. Got the 4 pack. Cost 50 bucks for shipping but already had ticks on me so it will be worth it.

I have used the 10% permethrin for a few years now. I used it in South Africa on a plains game hunt and I saturate my turkey hunting clothes with it. I don't use these clothes for deer hunting as they have a slight smell to them. I mix 8oz of 10% permethrin with 1gal of water. put my clothes into a pail and let sit for 2 hours then hang dry. The left over mixture goes into a spray bottle and I touch up my boots and vest before I go into the bush. I use to come home with up to 5 ticks at a time but now I haven't had any. This week I sat in my blind and watched 2 ticks crawling in the dried leaves so there are lots where I hunt. If you wanted you could spray your blind and the ground inside. I order the 10% from amazon.ca the shipping is almost as much as the bottle but it will last 2 or 3 years.

I hate ticks, I have a spot that if you were to go to now you would come out with a dozen on you. I only hunt it the first of the season when it is cold. I have basically given up on this spot as a big tom not worth getting sick. I have bought a spray can as well but decided just to hunt some where else. I have also given up hunting ducks in one spot as well because of the large number of ticks. Getting worse all the time, might have to start spraying my clothes and the dog.

Veto Equine is another one, 0.1% permethrin ready to use 1l, should be Co-op, TSC, local Farm Vet clinic, Tack shops. should be under $15 would likely use it on clothes/boots every time out due to the lower percentage that pre soak clothes in it
