More people die/injured from drowning and boating accidents then illegal use of guns and gangs in Canada.

Which is exactly the point we are making. Instead of wasting time on a BS ticket the OPP could press on looking for drunks. Clearly if this guy had been drinking he would have been arrested as he should be. We welcome the OPP on marine patrol but we don't want them wasting expensive and useful time. Dragging in grieving families into a discussion of a fishing infraction makes sense how?
I’m suspicious of people who don't like dogs, but I trust a dog who doesn't like a person.

Or, more logically, it's because there is not enough enforcement on our Lakes, people are still freely disregarding the rules.

You guys keep making the assertion that the sole purpose of the OPP doing a spot check was to measure the fish...they were there to ensure compliance with the rules...and seeing what looked like an illegal fish, as part of their authority and responsibility, asked to have it measured.
How can enforcement ever be considered a waste of time ?
"Dragging in grieving families into a discussion of a fishing infraction makes sense how?"
...you're still not getting it Terry...the fishing infraction is issued as a the result of a spot check....increased surveillance is going to continue because there, as was posted earlier, 8 deaths already in Ont...grieving families is a big part of why the OPP will be out in force this summer .
Eight boating deaths already this year in Ontario
There have been eight boating deaths on Ontario Provincial Police (OPP) patrolled waterways so far this year, which is almost three times as many as this time last year.
Tragically, none of this season’s eight victims was wearing a Personal Floatation Device (PFD) or lifejacket. Investigations into these deaths also revealed that alcohol was likely a factor in all but one of the six incidents

So people accidentally dying on the water ways for not wearing there PDF's is not a comparison to people being shot by gang violence....so why are they being discussed ?

Wrong about what ?...it wasn't my statement, I asked a question (note the ?).
I'm just perplexed as to why people keep referring to Gun and Gangs..has nothing to do with Boater Safety ?......unless the gangs start shooting boaters who aren't wearing their PDFs.
