Default Finally a good outing :)

After a busy spring (home reno, wife's graduation, Mother-in-law staying for 20 days) got a good day out last Sunday.

Small lake in the Bancroft area that I've been getting to know slowly over the last couple of years (one of those 'new' lakes to try; Pat). The thing I'm liking about it is that it only has eyes, smallies and panfish (no bite offs) but more importantly it has very darkly stained water. I find this keeps the eyes more active during the day which makes exploring easier.

Previously I had done well cruising the shorelines tossing a 1/4oz jig with a black twister-tail and throwing some cranks to explore bottom and find weedbeds. This year the funny spring seemed to have them off and I didn't get a sniff until my second outing when I tied a long shank hook as a drop-shot hook above my jig, threaded on two chartreuse plastic eggs and then a full night-crawler. That outing I landed one and lost one before we had to leave and the first weekend of June I stared with that and found myself with a limit after only a few hours first time for that lake

This was also my first time trying the new Gliss line. Very impressed! Equally sensitive but thinner than braid, way smoother and casts like a dream

Walleye and bass lakes are few and far between in our area. Most also have pike or lake trout.....or no public access.

    There you go Rugger.
Now I have to look for this Gliss line.

    Where?

I've been lucky enough to find a few good accesses but it's taken a while and lots of scouting, nice to see it start to pay off.

I ordered it online because it's not in Ontario yet (that I know of); Pro J Tackle in Scarborough will be stocking it but not for a few weeks.
