Read my original post. I was not asking 'who' did this kind of work I was asking for a reference for someone that is good at this kind of work. Any idiot can sit their down at a PC and come up with a list of shops. Then to sign off with 'google is very friendly'.......please! I hardly call that offering advice in good faith.
Thanks for the other posts - greatly appreciated!!!! Apparently they read my post.
Not getting into a pi$$ing match here.......just stating the obvious.
All I was doing was offering a suggestion, as many come on here asking some very simple questions that can be answered by going to "google ".
It is surprising how some cannot answer without name calling , but --- ----- can ruin a skeg!

Kawartha Prop did an awesome job on good friends prop/skeg after we "found" a rock a few years ago. Prop was missing half of one blade and skeg looked like a shark had bit it.
We removed the lower unit. It was an Evinrude 115. They arranged pick up in London area at a Tim's on a Tuesday morning, repaired and delivered back the next week. Prop and skeg looked great. Paint matched, could not tell there had been any damage. They go all over Ontario
It was about 8yrs ago but the bill was about $500.

Update - I took my prop into J&J and he said to give him a week. I received a call in 4 days telling me it was ready to get picked up. It looks amazing - I cannot tell where he repaired it and it was all painted up looking like new again!! All for about 1/3 of a new prop from a marina.
Would definitely recommend him for prop work.

I just wanted to follow up on this post with some feedback. As I mentioned the prop was done at J&J and when he was done it looked like new again. I took my skeg to Paul's welding in Lynden. I dropped it off to Paul on the Thursday and had a call on Friday afternoon that it is done and can get picked up. I went there Saturday AM and I was amazed on the job he did.......you cannot see the repair and it also looks like new.
I would recommend either of these guys for any of this kind of work. They are reasonable, quick and do great work!

John, if you did not return the slip over skeg, now is the time to put it on, you have the room to drill your two holes.

I thought of that but my main concern is if I (god forbid) whack it again the stainless slip over will not break and could this cause some lower end damage?

whack it hard enough to cause damage will not matter if it's installed or not, gives that little extra protection in skinny water, not raising the motor when taking the boat out ect ect, I see alot of boats with small chips to chunks out of their skegs, this will prevent that.

I've been to his shop/house to get my prop fixed. Good as new, service was quick and they even sent it back to me via purolator.
No complaints.
There are a lot of skeg replacement/protectors that slip over your existing as a DIY project. You may want to consider that also
