Why do you care? We do not have issues with gender neutral, it is not really a big deal here at all, except maybe that the time would have been better spent on other things.

We don't care up here and we live here.

Actually, I think a lot of people do care. Not so much about the gender neutral end of it but changing the words to an anthem that men and women lived, fought and died to--without being asked for their opinion first.

Me too ! However, both have been changed in the past. I remember all the flap about the last change to our flag. People didn't like the design. It got changed anyway. Our anthem was apparently changed during or shortly after WW2. I wasn't around for that one !!

The American flag has been changed more than 20 times since the founding of the USA. The name of the anthem was changed shortly after it was written. Originally called something like "The defence of Fort Henry" or something close to that - can't quite remember it exactly.
