[COLOR=#333333]And here I thought what was keeping them safe, was a better educated class of hunter, tuned in to respect for the landowner and having a broad appreciation of hunter ethics. Up west and north west of your location most the solar interest is outside of town limits, at least the ones in the area I drive through. Meanwhile with the OFAH and the Delta Waterfowl Association offering a defense they are doing so in support of the ethical hunters who have better things to do then blasted away at equipment, and attempt to intimidate field staff. The one other point that comes into play is solar solar doesn't put out the noise vibes that accompany wind generation, which in part may explain some of the concerns that have promote vandalism, in the case of wind whereas solar gets a pass.

This will be interesting. The wind employees are supposedly concerned for their safety while working around the turbines. What about the landowners who are out working the land ? Obviously they aren't too concerned with the hunters they have given permission to! As I said earlier, we hunt around these things all winter. Not one employee we have spoken to, has any concerns. Sounds like Big Wind BS to me.

Do they shut these things down when power is not needed,the reason I ask is that coming down the 35/115hwy I see these seven on the horizon and they are not turning.I passed today when there was a wind and nothing.

I have ten pretty much in my backyard and very, very rarely there isn't a crane and work crew working on one. Breakdowns or maintenance seem to be a common occurrence.

Same here along Lakeshore Road (LAKE Huron) they are in my backyard and always see crews working on them. Kinda funny to see them turning when the wind isn't blowing. I told my son that they are basically big outside fans cooling us down on hot summer days. lol They are also used to aid in the pollination process for field crops. That was part of Kathleen Wynn plan as well. She's a fricken genius !

They are basically burning off power saved in the battery banks that is not being used. They then start them up on a windy day to recharge and sell it to us suckers.

They must be relatively new construction. I drive by or around a couple hundred of these things and once they are operational, I very rarely see anyone around them. I think we have 800 or so here in Chatham-Kent, and they are building more!!!
