Advice neeeded. A coyote crapped in my garage
Good afternoon
I was in my garage this afternoon and found fairly fresh yote crap. The door open (usually is) and it went about 15' in. I've done my research and know it's yote. A few months ago one crapped 20' from our bedroom. Some male dog has marked it's territory on 2 of our car tires at night. Our dog is female and the only male dogs nearby wouldn't get a chance to come and do that.
I have a crossbow, 243 and 12 gauge. The garage is pretty close to the house. We're about 400' from a fairly busy road. They also have a trail through some grass beside our duck coop. No birds missing but I'm sure that's next.
Any suggestions on how to get these guys. I could hunt the adjacent properties and hope I get the one that did this but I'd prefer to get this brave one first.
Thanks

Yep. Wait him out. If you know where he's roughly entering the property play the wind.

I would blast them from my bedroom window if I had to, no worries about day or night here, this is protection of property and not hunting. If can legally discharge a firearm and you can do so safely in your area then camp out and have it lit up with a yard light or something like that.

If a firearm or bow can't be used.....you can always lay down a trap for a coyote (live-cage or leg hold trap should do)

He is then quite apt to catch the dog that has marked his territory on his vehicle tires, then there is the legal aspect of using a trap if you are not a licensed trapper.
As far as using a live trap goes , "good luck ".

I set a live trap last night. It seemed to go in take the bait and leave without the trigger going off. I don't have a working game camera so can't be sure. The crap was definitely yote.
Hopefully tomorrow morning brings good news
