350 million Americans. 226 million are voters. 59 million voted for Trump, 200.000 more voted for Clinton, but still got defeated with the electoral system. That America stands behind Trump can be disputed. 46% of voters just didn't vote - that's how the **** goes down. For all those who think that it's "cool" or "about time" that a guy like the p***ygrabber is in power: think about it again when sometimes in the next 4 years somewhere in the world an American nuclear bomb explodes. On that day it will not be an American issue anymore. Good luck to all of us!

OK. Stop watching too many movies and TV.....there is no "button" no "briefcase" and the system of checks and balances that are in place doesn't exactly mean the guy can just launch a nuke.

So much Butthurt over the Electoral College, yet it suited the left just fine when it worked for them. But that's very typical of the left, now isn't it? Democracy is a great institution as long as it goes with what they want and believe....but when it doesn't...take to the streets and revolt......because that's the civilized and enlightened way to behave.

I get it that Clinton Liberal/Democrats will be in a whole world of butt-hurt for quite some time. Being jerked into the real world is always rough on "progressives" when their rose-colored glasses get work boot heel crushed. Yes,they'll whine and kevetch, protest, obfuscate, misconstrue, skew statements and generally stamp their feet with the usual leftist over-the-top fear mongering and silly rhetoric, but, the sun will rise in the morning, life will go on for us mere mortals. Now,chill and head for the woods or sit out on the lake with a fishing rod in your hand and enjoy the beauty of nature. Leave the silly rhetoric to the media and hit the "off" switch. Life is too short.
If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

As far as finding common ground - that will not happen because it is impossible to find common ground with those who have ideas that are completely opposite to yours -Trump now has a Senate and House and should be able to get whatever he wants - hopefully he will move our country back to the nation that is once was
I would be curious to know what you want your nation to be, how many years back are we talking, 2003? 1950? 1860?

Trying to grasp how far back you want to go, it would give us Canadians an idea of what to expect.

Actually - there is a briefcase! And according to experts, the process to launch a nuclear strike is designed to be fast - and can be done by the commander in chief alone. His order can't be stopped.

This is reality, not a movie. And we also don't need movies to see what can happen. History books - or just a newspaper might help you a lot to see the reality. It's always one man with a big amount of lies, spreading fear to get more people around him.

Also, he doesn't have to launch a nuclear strike to start it. What did he say? "Why not ship a bomb to South Korea, so they can erase North Korea from the map?" Well, my ten year old is smarter the that, but unfortunately the new POTUS thinks this is it....

Just can repeat myself, good luck to all of us. Easy to post "tough" comments and post silly "liberal health kits" as long as nothing changes. Ask your parents or grandparents how funny the jokes about Hitler were after 1939......

Hitler? LMAO. nothing sweeter than the taste of liberal tears. You dont think both sides spread fear and lies? Or is it only ok when your team does it.

Talking about Donald Trump has - for me - nothing to do with political parties. How could it - he is not even a politician. He just stands for everything I am against. He is a bully, a racist, has no respect for women, other religions, and so much more he proved and told us in the last 18 month (besides the fact that he has no clue about politics and no idea what he is talking about). He is completely unacceptable as person, and definitely as a leader. He's not a republican! I just quote him (People Magazine, 1998):

"If I were to run, I'd run as a Republican. They're the dumbest group of voters in the country. They believe anything on Fox News. I could lie and they'd still eat it up. I bet my numbers would be terrific"

He got this one right, for sure!

I'm an awfully long way from a Liberal but I don't think the parallels between Trump and Hitler are as far apart as I wished they were

Give it time. Does anyone know Trump? Or just heard the stories.

LOL. You make a lot of assumptions for someone who's new here.

The main problem the left has with Trump is that he's not "full of lies".....he's laid everything out on the table, good and bad, and let the American people decide. They decided that they would rather have a sideshow clown who spoke his mind, over a 40 year bureaucrat with multiple scandals, and lies through her teeth.

The American people saw that their country hasn't recovered from the recession in 2008, exactly 8 years ago. They have seen the Democrats do nothing but increase taxes, and treat them with disdain, while implementing policy which did nothing to stimulate jobs or the economy. The status quo wasn't working, and they wanted change...any change.

If HRC hadn't cheated herself the nomination from Sanders, this might have well been a different election altogether, but she did, and they lost a ton of their own camp in the process.

Funny how much of the left likes to make comparisons to Hitler....last I checked they did the same thing for Stephen Harper as well. Except this.....

Every time a white person bothered to complain about BLM and their violent agenda, they were called racist.
Every time a person highlighted the gender gap, and how does the wage gap exist when the data doesn't compare types of employment, they were called sexist.
Every time someone asked about policy of any kind which was widely accepted by the left because it was "progressive" they were called homophobic, misogynistic, sexist, elitist, etc etc etc....
Every time a frank discussion of any issue was raised, the left asked for "trigger warnings" and needed safe spaces, where intelligent discussion of any topic couldn't take place.

Maybe folks in the USA just got tired of all of the above, and saw what it really was doing to their country, and their economy. It was easy to distract, and deflect for 8 years while really doing nothing about the fact that the countries economy crashed, and the Democrats did very little to aid in it's recovery.

This particular election was a race to the bottom. But the conduct and narrative being put on display right now is sickening. Lending to that narrative at all by making comparisons to long deceased dictatorships is egregious, and childish.

Congratulate the man on pulling off a victory when the media was against him, and he certainly tripped up a few times along the way.

Then sit back and watch, but unless I'm absolutely wrong, the guy deserves a chance to do what he promised.
