The Big Lie - Diversity

Anyone that listens to the news knows how divided the U.S. is - and I think there is no hope of bringing society together again - why - because world order folks did their best to sell the idea that diversity in a society was a good thing - our country is now made up of so many different people with so many different ideas that trying to solve problems is near impossible - it is common sense that a country made up of so many different groups each with it own agenda - (which often go against the agenda of other groups) will not be a strong country - as long as things are going ok people will generally get along but if really bad things happen each group will attempt to take care of its own and things will fall apart - and how can progress be made when one group gains political power and ends up doing away with the former group's accomplishments -

Sure it sounds nice - having a country made up of people with different religions, races, nationalities, culture and what not and all getting along together but with human nature as it is this isn't going to happen - I don't know my country anymore - there was a time when I closely related with what was going on but now find that I am a stranger in my own country - I realize that some diversity is going to occur but when the soul of your country is changing because of people from other places having more and more control then it has gone too far - and that's what has happened here in America - people who push the world order agenda feel that wars are all started because of differences in wealth of countries, religion and nationality - if these can be done away with people have no reason to go to war - all I can say is - lots of luck -

All of them talking Covid and changes in their respective area's, the economy and trades are busy in all four places, City folks are moving to their area's, there is good money flowing into the area ,they all seemed pretty upbeat to me. They know that more services will be demanded
and broadband will need to be expanded ,but all seemed pretty happy about the changes.

I defy you to say we are any better. Sex trafficking in Northern Ontario is a huge issue today. A good friend that is a GP spent the early part of her career up there. Trying to teach young mothers it was ok to love their children. Why don't they? because when children die young, it's less painful as a parent if theres no attachment. And on and on and on and on. Try getting six wasp people in a house to agree on which restaurant to go to for dinner. Now add 2 vegans, 2 from Asia, 1 from Indo pacific, 1 from the Caribean, 2 from S. America.
Now add such things different regions, some need dairy, some are lactose intolerant ( think Rural/Urban).
In a household most understand that the 6 old school wasp will win the vote most of the time, but the wasp (cities) knowing that, will make an effort to give the others the time of day occasionally.

First of all there was no such thing as an Indian Confederacy when the 'white man' arrived. The French called them the Indian Confederacy and the English called them 5 Nations (Mohawk, Onondaga, Oneida, Cayuga, and Seneca)........it was not until 1772 when they accepted Tuscarora people in (also Iroquois speaking) and Six Nations was formed.

So are you telling me that before the white man arrived the indigenous people of North America were living in utopia? Natives took slaves as battle trophies, took wives of their fallen enemy, they fought with each other and killed, raped and looted entire villages. So when the white man arrived they were fought and lost that war. Yes, the natives helped the British win decisive battles in the Rebellion of 1812 and some were rewarded with land and fortune (Joseph Brant, Tecumseh to name a few), and treated the natives much better than the Americans did.

........so I would say that racism and segregation was alive and well long before colonization.

Joe, I think there are many many reasons that your country has ended up where she is, but I’m not sure that cultural diversity is the chief reason. If everyone had good paying jobs, they’d get along better. The greed of all has shipped the jobs overseas, and they’re not coming back.

Gilroy: yes the Native Canadians were not always treated well (residential schools), but the idea that this was THEIR land doesn’t fly. Sparsely populated by people that were largely nomadic - doesn’t equal ownership.

Whenever I hear our PM recite his mantra of "diversity is our strength," I think just the opposite. Diversity doesn't promote unity, it encourages nonconformity.

The Crow Creek Massacre was 100 years before Columbus and has a mass grave of 486 victims, only the young women seemed to have been spared and we can guess what happened to them.

Unfortunately the survivor's of wars write the history that appeal's to them. The English did not write to much about their biological warfare and small pox blankets, they kept that one quiet.

Yes coming from an Irish/Scottish back ground I tend to support the underdog. I just wish some folk's in Canada from the same background would get off their high horses and remember their own history and how they initially survived in this cold and harsh land.

Its appropriate that Joe Pal is the poster as our aboriginal brothers help us resist several invasions by the Yanks.

Your views on war and winning Canada are extremely off base. The British Crown made LAND TREATIES with the aboriginal people's for some parts of Canada, they did not make treaties for other parts. It was not winner takes all. They were our allies.

So the disputes today are about land's not sold or subject to treaties.

I agree 100% but I do not know where the blame lies for the certain cohorts that think they are entitled to certain things in life that the rest of us worked so hard to achieve. Is it the school system to blame to sending everyone blindly off to university regardless of their program promising them life will be your oyster? Telling them that by getting your BSc or BA will automatically entitle you to a good well paying career? Or it it parents not allowing their children to fail, and the advent of participation trophies so that we can place everyone on an equal playing field - even though the kids know they are FAR from equal.

Kids are NOT created equal and they need to realize this and adapt to overcome these hurdles and not ignore them until they run smack dab into one stopping them dead in their tracks. Some people are stronger (mentally and/or physically), smarter, more technical, better looking, richer, communicate better and are better connected in this world. Kids need a plan to overcome their weaknesses and capitalize on their strengths.

I think it society/parents, many of whom are better educated. We could mention helicopter parenting and much more up to and including divorce rates/broken families. The school system and academia should shoulder a lot. I mean really, who sets it up?

Up to and including media ( aren't journalist likewise better educated today, and yet journalism today is trash). I'm sure more than just uneducated red necks are glued to "the Kardashians". We get sold this false dream of white picket fences, degrees and corporate ladders etc...Yet, many highly educated parents are married to their jobs, have less time for their kids, have less energy for them, have higher bills, and stresses. Most white collar slaves I know, despite being highly educated, can't figure out why they refer to their weekends at the cottage as an escape.
And apples, kids don't fall far.

So despite, supposedly being better educated ( have no reason to believe intelligence is any different), it is extremely arguable things/people are worse off.

The German school system works on that premise. Kids are evaluated early on (around grade 6) and 'guided' into areas of education (trade / higher education) so that they will be most productive as a member of society. They look at the youth as a valuable resource and try to get the best out of their inherent abilities.
