As a person who is currently trapped in this phenomena, I found this to be quite entertaining.
I was trying to embed the Facebook link to view the longer version..but no luck...so you'll have to launch it from this URL...

I'm looking forward to the the end of Elf on the Shelf season. The kids love it but I already have enough to remember at this time of year. I've had more than one moment of panic this month when the realization dawned on me that I had forgotten to move the Elf.
I still only have a vague idea what in heck this is all about...there are no wee ones in my life to keep me up on these things.
I had no idea it was a kid thing, I keep seeing the adult side of it on the web so I had to look it up...LOL...
It stays in your home for the month of December to "watch" the kids and report back to Santa. It's magical of course and has to get up to some sort of shenanigans every night. If he hasn't, (tired parents forgot to move him) the kids are disappointed.
It's become one of these things where more kids have an Elf in their house these days than kids that don't.
Were you responsible for this one Dyth.???

Just funning Rugger.
Has there ever been a creation so blatantly designed to produce money for its creator?
Like when did Elf on the Shelf become a thing? It seems like *bam* it just appeared everywhere.
My house does not participate. Never will.
Wow you sound like a really fun dad................
What are you even talking about, other than the initial cost of the elf itself (a toy) there is no other costs, no different than any other toy you buy your kids other than this one brings a ton of joy to the kids and they pay attention to it for a whole month every year.........which is more than you can say about a lot of toys that cost a lot more!
First thing my daughter does every day when she gets up is look to see what the elf is doing, the more mischief he gets in the better in her eyes........lol
:):):)
bah humbug
Yea I can see how some situations might scare the little ones;

I think blasted_Saber really like this Elm. Maybe next year we should all send him one. :santa:
We never had any "elf on the shelf" to get us kids to behave before Christmas.
Dad had "belt on the shelf" for that
