Prime Minister Justin Trudeau is denying that senior officials in the Prime Minister’s Office “directed” Jody Wilson-Raybould when she was justice minister and attorney-general to intervene in the corruption and fraud case of SNC-Lavalin Group Inc., but he would not say whether they tried to influence her to abandon a prosecution and trial of the Montreal corporate giant.

The Globe and Mail reported on Wednesday that Mr. Trudeau’s office attempted to press Ms. Wilson-Raybould to get the Public Prosecution Service of Canada to shelve court proceedings against SNC-Lavalin in favour of a negotiated deal without trial.

Everything they are saying is bullsh#t. There's so many Canadian companies that can pick up ANY and ALL work that SNC has or may get. I'd rather see an ethical mid-size company grow, than have our tax dollars go to a company that is proven to be corrupt.

I can tell you, this easily trumps any corrupt thing that Steve Harper had to deal with. Allowing corrupt companies to work with the government is a little more serious than someone who tried to get the tax payer to pay for chewing gum.

Many will tell you that this is, unfortunately, how construction is routinely done in Quebec and especially in Montreal.

Consider the resulting over-payment for construction services, plus the $13 billion that Quebec receives in equalization payments, and their provincially funded $7/day healthcare and you’ll start to get an idea of the resentment that many Canadians hold for La Belle Province.

Picture the exasperation of someone in Alberta hearing Denis Coderre (former federal Liberal, and recent/current mayor of Montreal) proclaim that “dirty Alberta oil” should never travel east through a pipeline across Quebec. As Alberta sends money their way.

If you think that this is worse than Harper that is great, but the far left will say this is no big deal and Harper was a baby eater, both of the far leaning people will not be swayed. I somewhat disagree. I do agree that there are numb nuts that don't care and will stick to their side no matter what, but there is that population of undecided people, and that's where our voices count. Probably to most Canadians and especially politicians ...they amount to the same thing. They don't differentiate so I generally look at as that they messed up in marking the ballot correctly but spoiling it deliberately is same result as far as most know or care.

OK. Ford has ZERO to do with the CPC. Got it? ZERO. Quotes from Rick Mercer? I didn't hear anything about that,but,given that Mercer is a big LPoC supporter,I can't see anyone quoting him. Even his jokes aren't the least bit funny.

Ignore them .... reality is their enemy and you can't use facts for people like that. His only accepted source of information is the media in the payroll of the Libs. and by only accepting those sources of information he can comfortably continue his mental comfort.... so it is better just to ignore. I have had Libs supporters say things like well Justin didn't say that... then you post the full clip of him saying it and they say ... well it is from a right wing news source .... seems more and more the leftie media tells people what to think and the right what is right (correct) but reality/truth makes the snowflakes melt so don't waste your time...There are just those out there that search for truth... .and those that hate it.... trying to enlighten them ends up kind of light lighting a candle in a room with no oxygen. The candle never lights and you yourself die in the effort...simply put given 20 year old re-re-re-runs or news they don't want truth so you are better off to walk out room and forget the candle.

Scheer promises to launch inquiry into SNC-Lavalin
Conservative Leader Andrew Scheer announced his plans to launch an inquiry into the SNC-Lavalin affair and give the RCMP greater access to information protected by cabinet confidence should his party win the election.

Speaking to supporters in Liberal Leader Justin Trudeau’s riding of Papineau in Quebec on Thursday morning, Scheer said a new Conservative government would launch a judicial inquiry into the SNC-Lavalin controversy.

“The only way to get to the bottom of this scandal and get the answers Canadians deserve is to hold a judicial inquiry and the only way to do that is to defeat Justin Trudeau on Oct. 21 and elect a new Conservative government,” he said.

Singh went on to say that if his party was elected they would not allow DPAs to be used and corporations accused in criminal cases would be barred from lobbying the government.
In terms of Scheer’s proposed inquiry, Singh said he, too, has been calling for one since the scandal first came to light and he would support it.
