If you missed it the other day, the 401 is in the background.
Apparently there were about 50 youths present paying tribute to a slain singer/rapper....
It is said that at least 7 young people shot back. God knows how many others were carrying firearms and didn't use them. It is stuff like this that makes me sick. The government political correctness makes them do nothing addressing the real issue, instead they go after law abiding gun owners. I don't own handguns, don't even like them but I know enough that it isn't the law abiding gun owners that are problem...

A sure sign the Covid issue is on the decline. Things are returning to "normal" for the TO thugs.

Toronto is well armed on the streets. Why wouldn't it be it's been a free for all for years.

What's stopping them from being afraid its just a gun. They are everywhere they are in the schools they are in the streets. Probably only got the 2 suspects on camera by police. Most of them will say nothing they know nothing lol.

Up here in gods country, at one time, not really that long ago, it was rare to read in the local news about guns n drugs in the same sentence. Of course it did happen, but certainly not in the frequencies we are seeing now.
Over the last couple of months, here in the Soo and several outlying areas, there has been 3 separate incidents of police arresting a carload of lowlife's who were up from Tronna in possesion of an assortment of drugs and various firearms. One arrest involved a short stand-off in a motel parking lot.
I'm not sure if this is idicative of gangs moving in to set up shop or to distribute their wares, but reading this stuff is becoming the norm. Thankfully the police were onto them, but I'm sure there are many others who aren't caught?.
The interesting thing about these stories is that none of the accused names could be pronounced or even spelled properly? Not Irish? Not french Canadian? Italian, nope! Russian? Nyet! No, these names were definitely tongue twisters to even the scholars diciphering the lost scrolls. And all with an address in Tronna? Imagine that!

Crooks looking to expand their drug turf in outlying areas usually stick out like a sore thumb. It's not rocket science for law enforcement to figure out what the mooks are up to with discrete surveillance that specialized units have developed over many years of intel gathering techniques. It's a lot easier than one would think because small town people have very loose lips. When local skells get busted they usually sing like canaries and over a short time, it all starts to add to the local picture.

Even the cops are in on the crimes this one is just horrible. Toronto cop charged with human trafficking.

Another bad apple in the force lol. People like this need to rot and waste away. The government needs to stop protecting these criminals . They need to get tougher on crime or it will never stop. What's stopping the criminals from doing what they want?

I would agree on second or even third generation . Crime didnt just start it's been around forever the shootings have been happening for 100 years . With population growth it's only bound to get worse. With criminals doing what they want there is not much of a punishment to deter them at all.

Crime families have been around for decades. Only thing new is the drug users and it's spreading like the plague . Meth and purp is a big hit for many .

With such a high demand for it it will never change until they legalize some of the harder drugs. Until then we will continue to see violent criminals and crimes now adays it doesn't take much to loose your life couple thousand dollars and your life is over if you muck them over . Then all the overdose deaths thousands a year keep it legal and clean it can save thousands of lives each year.

Please-legalizing more drugs will solve nothing.I have no experience whatsoever with drugs,but whatever i hear and read-legalizing marijuana did nothing else EFFECTIVELY but DeCriminalized the users.Which is fine for me.........but no crime,no black market,no illegal drugs went to the oblivion.They are doing quite well..........
Lets feed our kids more legally obtainable cra............p.

We are only talking about the death factor of things . Thousands die each year because of contaminated products or I shall say to potent mixed with other chemicals like fentanyl. It would save a lot of lives


Definitely agree they have to keep on track of the criminals and the larger networks. Even the cannabis there was a large 1.5 ton of weed stopped at the border the other day destined for the USA. They have found plenty of drugs this year almost 6 ton more than normal because of the boarder being closed down to the public.


Remember it was all legal all not that long ago,not in my time lol. . Lots of other places making it legal to help save the lives . If I'm not mistaken heroin is legally available in Vancouver with a prescription. It was to help end the mass amount over deaths. There are still hundreds drying every month there alone mostly from fentanyl mixed in.

you want to reduce the black market on marijuana you have to compete with them...I say the government should give everyone all the free weed they want, when nobody can sell weed anymore because everyone gets it for free the black market is gone! I wasn't talking about the meth or purp when I mentioned it being legal lol just cocaine and heroin the ones that are not killing everyone. . Purp is heroin with fentanyl mixed in to make it stonger


Japan's government used to give them all meth when they were in the war at least it was clean . Most meth is so dirty you will loose your teeth in no time .
My friend lived in Japan for 10 years he had an ice problem or meth while there but he said he would never use it in north America. Said its clean there since the government had used it.

Tax evasion is not much of a thing in the illegal drug business. Many pay taxes on the illegal drugs. Many of them use businesses to hide and pay themselves there for pay taxes on their elite income lol. That's why I was joking to gilroy awhile ago the government already gets paid from the black market. Facts lol.

An example. You run a painting business most pay cash you dont even need to paint but put the money in from illegal sales. They sell drugs they put in 50 60 thousand dollars a year and pay the taxes . Happens all the time more than you would think.

I've heard of people paying up to 50 g in taxes a year from illegal sales tax evasion is not for everyone lol.

Small world, we grew up in the Jane and Finch corridor... went to Westview...... Back in the day there may have been some shootings but I think we got a lot more now at least in the last few years anyway.... IMO if they bring back a version of carding, things would be a little less wild west....

The only problem with the long or longer jail time is out of sight out of mind.

Like has been said for every one they catch there three or four to take their place.

Maybe instead of long jail time, the best solution would be a short drop in public. By public I mean right in their neighborhood.

Well then you'd better be building more jails. I worked at EMDC/PP for 20 years. It was built for 350 inmates. It is now running around 500... and people complain about why the COs aren't doing a better job of watching what's going on.

What I'm getting at is there has been a steady increase in our population. More population growth comes with more problems. Since 2016 we have seen great growths in the area.

In fact Toronto was the fastest growing cities in all of Canada and the USA last year. With huge increases of population there is bound to be more of everything including shootings.

So the question is, is the violence really up or does it just come with the population growth? Will it become the new normal?

Toronto wants to double it's population in the Next 45 years so there could be 1600 to 2000 shootings a year by then. [emoji849]

I dont buy it..... Ever since carding has been removed the gangsters now know cops cant search or even talk to them without first asking for their permission.... Gangster have too many rights and are hiding behind them..... Allow the cops to do their job (be proactive) and the gun violence will be reduced, right now all the cops can do it react after the fact.

Would you like to get yanked out of your car and patted down an lets say harassed just because the cop wants to? We do have rights and unfortunately in certain circumstances I would say thats the price for freedom. I can tell you I want my charter rights and vote for a free country.

Who's to say your not part of a gang? Gangster come in all ages and races. You can't have it two ways, they can search certain people and not others. Your probably not that far off where I am I'm on the York ,Durham boarder North East end of the GTA. .


The crime only follows the drugs ,the guns following along with the drugs it's a vicious cycle.

North Bay is becoming problematic with it all to ,the past few years. It's definitely heading north .

It is the fentanyl that is problem. Among with the prescription drugs, It's fairly cheap, it's in almost every household and readily available. It is hill Billy heroin .

Add a grain of fentanyl and it could be very lethal. Either way it's all from the same source from oxy , to morphine, heroin and fentanyl.

Then add the rest of the street drugs into the mix and it's a disaster.

My parents neighbour was as Firefighter..seemed like he was always home. I asked him once and he said he hadn't been on shift for a fire call in over 15 yrs. Made a good living ..."being on call just in case" ...Haha..

Well I read all the posts - got to make a couple comments - I remember awhile back that people would jump on me because of the crime that occurred down here in the states - at the time I told them to just wait and it will be just the same in Canada in short order - well it seems that I was right then as I am now

Another thing - some keep blaming poverty as the reason for the crime - but they don't have the answer why I grew up poor and most of my neighbors were poor and never got in trouble with the law - people were raised with an understanding of what was right and wrong - and the kids were brought up to do what was right - there was a moral fiber that existed in society - today people have no idea of what right or wrong is and many don't care - kids are being raised in fatherless homes without proper guidance - being bombarded with crap on the tv and internet - so what do you expect when these kids grow up -

Then there is the culture that many immigrants bring with them when they come to our countries - they don't attempt to adopt our culture instead they foster the culture from where they came from - a culture that caused them to want to leave in the first place - our western culture is being attacked from all sides and unless things change drastically it will fade into the sunset - when you look at all the advances in science, medicine, art, engineering, mathematics etc. the vast majority of it came from the western nations - unless people start voting into office people who have a true concern for the country and not those who keep feeding them freebies it's all over but the shouting - in the long run a nation will survive only when the people are of good character and morals

Back in my dads time, they worked 12 hour shift, 170 days a year.

Back then, it was a dangerous job. He was badly hurt numerous times, and eventually all the crap he sucked into his lungs killed him. Today, they are more paramedics.

Crime /gangs in Durham region have been rising since around 2005. Ajax in particular is bad. You’d think with the explosion in population, tax revenue would allow for adequate police services/action.

But when both cops and firefighters are pulling in more than 100k..........

And strangely, neither profession crack the top 10 most dangerous....
