If a tree falls on your ex in the woods and nobody hears it,you should probably still get rid of your chainsaw. Just sayin'....

Remington and Savage designs have the premier protection from that sort of stuff. (not getting it in the face)
Tikka rifles were the worst although they have attempted improvements with the newer bolt shroud.
ML or CF, Remington and Savage have the most robust action designs of the usually purchased brands.

In general, talking about protection to the user for bolt action rifles the best are military actions, specifically the model 98 Mauser. It was assumed that the gun would have something happen to have a round rupture or things to go bad, now the assumption is that things will be perfect. The actions and overall the guns are made lighter for the sporter market and many of the safety features have been removed because they are not considered a requirement.
I shot a rifle with some MFS ammo, model 98 action, gas vented everywhere, scared the crap out of me, needless to say I will never shoot MFS again. I took that rifle out with some grey box winchester ammo, loaded it and shot it on bags with 1 hand the first time. It had been checked over but scared me until I knew it was an ammo problem.
