I have yet to see how this bs diversity line from the left has been proven to strengthen any country in the world. In fact recent history shows the exact opposite. How anyone can think that bringing in millions of immigrants that have little to no intent on assimilating into society except to suck it dry drawing welfare is beyond common sense.

Our family is currently sponsoring a family from Syria. WE have to sponsor them, not the government or you, they do not qualify for any social assistance in any way. Immigrant children have a higher pre and post secondary graduation rate. They will also long term pay more into the system from a tax perspective than they will ever draw from.

The widely-accepted view that immigrants have a long-term benefit on the receiving country's economy is supported by the findings of two recent studies.

Both studies make it clear that when the immigration argument is held in purely economic terms, the only possible conclusion is that more newcomers mean greater prosperity.

This past year the family purchased there first car, both children work 5 days a week after attending high school classes. The father works 6 days a week in a manufacturing plant and attends ESL classes in the evenings.

Because HIV fits the criteria of excessive demand on healthcare and it is illegal in Canada for permanent residents or citizens to engage in polygamy but good try.

Germany had to pay off it's debt from the treaty of Versailles from WW1. That is what took it so long to get off its back and allowed the rise of Hitler.

Your parents were immigrants? I wonder how they would have felt if someone said the same things about them that that you are saying now because I am fairly confident they didn't step off the boat and have the exact same way of thinking that the citizens at the time had. They might not have known English.

All I ask for is one set of rules for everyone. Want to be a construction worker but not wear a hard hat...pick another job. Want to go into legion and not take off your hat.....Drink somewhere else. I am so tired of government changing laws and rules over one person or one group. If I forget next month in December, Happy Holidays to everyone! LOL

Indians I give a little more....Want self government ....yes on your reserve......you are in the same rules as everyone else when you come off reserve. CHEERS!

Good for Canada! Being a homosexual in Russia is a sure fire way to get killed /imprisoned - placing them in need of immediate rescue. Good reason for a special immigration law imo. Your need for rescue should never be based on your sexuality.

The major factor that should be considered when granting any person citizenship is what is best for the country - not what is best for some foreigner or best for some special group - I don't know how bringing in homosexuals into Canada is best for Canada - if you feel that their lives are at risk in Russia then why are you stopping there - there are millions upon millions of people around the globe who are living in danger - should we open the doors to all these too - if you do you can say goodbye to your standard of living - your culture and everything else Canadian -

Here in the states our immigration policies are all screwed up - we leave over a million immigrants into our country each year - more than half of these end up on welfare - only 1 in 15 come here for employment reasons - the vast majority come here simply because they happen to be related to someone already here - that is why we have more Somalia born residents than Australia born residents even though Australians are more are better prepared to integrate and assimilate into American way of life - right now the surge of immigrants are coming from South America the East and South Asia - historically when there was a surge of immigrants a period of low immigration followed that allowed the new immigrants a time to assimilate into the American way of life - this isn't happening anymore - Trump is president today because of the immigration issue - people got fed up with their country being changed by all the foreigners coming into their country
