This guy does a pretty good review of the basics of the GeoPad, at 6 minutes in he walks thru the e-call sound function and says you can buy more, but doesn't elaborate.

As an owner of one of these tablets I have no idea what the uproar is all about...it is basically a tablet with some hunting apps on it...nothing more nothing less!

Uproar ?...If nothing else...it's ruggedized and weather proof, great for the outdoors and at $200 a pretty good deal.

I mean compared to that the guns we all use are about as advanced as the doohickey in the original post. I can never understand the sense of superiority some people get out of looking down on those who are making use of new technology. Hunting is about what the individual gets out of it. If this makes them happy, then I see no reason why anyone should look down upon them. Alternatively if ones sees fit to use a recurve bow, then I'd also 100% support them.
I guess my "purist" line, made in jest, has been misinterpreted. Tried to add an emoji but couldn't see where.

I just didn't see the item as being the "ultimate tool" as advertised. Good fodder for conversation as beating up on Liberals gets old after a while.

So did a quick Google and found this. Might be interesting to try out.

I have a couple of old phones kicking around and a waterproof Bluetooth speaker so might be the ticket.

What surprises me in this whole thread is that Mike doesn't own a smart phone... time to get with the times Mike, there is the whole world of texting out there to discover.

Geesh! I thought I was behind the times? Just 2 years ago I came on here asking advice on smart phones and got all sorts of ridicule (in a nice way) So I bit the bullet and life has never been the same since.
Now, I get to be interrupted with the sound of dings n dongs everytime I'm in the garage, outside, or at the cabin! I can no longer go to a grocery store without getting a text from my dear wife adding to the list? Of course this text invariably arrives as Im walking out of the store? My buddies get to send me pics of their fish they caught, with the audacity to ask to see a pic of mine? There should be a law against texting n fishing at the same time? Back in the old day's, my wife would send the dog to alert me that dinner was ready and on the table. That dog would track me down and drag me by the pant leg back inside, since he knew that our dinner, meant that his was close also! Now at the sound of the ding dong, he just lay's there and rolls his eye's? An era gone by....

Hey do you have a brother named Jim...works at Virgin Mobile ???...he called me yesterday and told me the same thing

Apparently my Samsung Flip phone is no longer all the rage and that $10 a month package I have is so old they aren't making any money off me. I told him to look at my usage..5 calls since Nov and that was because I was using it during the hunt camp week to call the wife ..LOL..

I think I'll buy this however, a new 'Boy Toy'...seems like a must have for a guy that has everything ...and it is in Camo

I'm with you on this BM...I have no intention of carrying a phone, smart or otherwise. The flip phone in the truck for emergencies and the battery is usually dead so it doesn't even work for that

I still answer to the dinner bell at the back door..

What does is actually do for trail camera photo management? I'd be interested in something like the DeerLab software that will add weather, moon, barometric pressure trends, and wind direction information to each of your photos, and catalog specific deer you tag to look for trends. Any of this kind of capability built into this?
