You are 100% on the money ...you know those awkward days between Xmas and New years (when your house is full of people who annoy the chit out of you) nothing better than heading into the bush with your bow for 3-4 hrs.

yeah this year would be a good year for the ML hunt with that dang standing corn taking so long.

for my neck of the woods there are so many variables. the surrounding farms are hunted so hard during the SG hunt, it leads the deer that are left to be well educated and somewhat nocturnal. also have to factor in this standing corn as well as when the rut kicks off. the moon cycle, etc.

i've been following your posts. what a great year indeed for you guys!

atm we only have one person who hunts first week couple shots neighbour property
I think mineral dumps&salt dumps are helping to bring in the larger bucks

I will be looking at switching next year to that Dec ML hunt also.
The standing corn is an issue for me and this way I have an excuse to buy another gun and see what this BP hunting is all about !

Been hunting the December hunt for 15 yrs now. No one out in december. We only hunt the afternoons as we sit on food, bean if still up or left at the edge of the field, winter wheat is good too and standing corn cause its noisy and wait. The rut is usually over and deer just want to fatten up.
