The question is....why did this guy feel the need to resist a lawful arrest, fight off two officers attempts to control him, disarm one of his CEW, discharge it at one officer and continue to escape lawful custody ????
I guess LEOs in the States particularly, should invoke the FIDO principle when dealing with criminals!!

The other question I see is.... how the hell can one normal man take on two "trained" men with tasers, and win?

BINGO!! As one of two coppers sent to back up Ambulance and fire rescue with an uncooperative and violent mental patient,we arrived to find a 110lb female Schizophrenia patient off her meds for a week. First responders were scared shyteless of her and deferred to us. Picture two 220lb,6'2" officers being tossed around like rag dolls. She went through us like crap through a goose because we were completely unprepared for such ferocity from a tiny woman. FD guys used a heavy canvas fire blanket tossed over her to wrap her up,so,we could get control of her. We strapped her down to a stretcher fire blanket wrap and all and that's how she went to the hospital. That was my first time dealing with Adrenaline rush. I would have never believed it unless I'd been part of it.

The one thing about the Atlanta incident I don't quite understand is why the Police Chief resigned after firing the Officer that shot the subject. Did she think it was wise to resign before the Mayor fired her? I don't get it.

Likely in protest after having been ordered to fire the copper prior to any formal investigation.....political interference at its best, on pretty much all of these incidents as of late !!! LEOs don’t stand a chance !!

I'm really concerned about what happens after tens of thousands of LEO's resign en masse as to who municipalities hire to replace them. Hiring protocols in the US are obviously pretty lax as it is. If thousands need to be hired and trained in a short period of time,they can only get worse.

Particularly considering many US departments weren’t paying enough to get the quality hires in the first place. A lot of them are still in the $30-40,000 year range. Just saw one officer on the news, in New Jersey I think, in his early 30s and working for the ninth different police department in his career.

I think there will be more de-policing issues now, and you really can’t blame them.
